Vremščica Hill

Vremščica is a ridge that lies between Senožeče, Divača, the valley of the Reka river and Pivka. The highest peak is Velika Vremščica at an altitude of 1,027m. It offers views of the Javorniki hills, Nanos, Slavnik, the Adriatic Sea and the Alps. At the top stands the church of St. Urban. The church on Vremščica was already described by Janez Vajkard Valvasor in the Glory of the Duchy of Carniola. The old church was later destroyed in a fire. The new church was built on the remains of the old church by the locals in 2009.
