Your Plate, Your Choice, Your TASTES OF PIVKA 2025

A culinary competition for primary school students, secondary school students, adult cooking enthusiasts, and restaurateurs.

The Pivka Tourism Institute, in cooperation with the Pivka-Delamaris Group, invites you to participate in a nationwide culinary competition aimed at everyone who enjoys creating in the kitchen and values high-quality local ingredients. At the heart of this creative challenge are chicken and fish from the Pivka-Delamaris Group.

Applications are open from April 1 to September 1, 2025.
The winners will be officially announced at the Tastes of Pivka 2025 event on September 14, 2025.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?

Each application must include:

  • An innovative recipe that includes ingredients from the Pivka-Delamaris Group (chicken, fish)
  • A presentation of the preparation and a photo of the finished dish in one of the following formats:
  • A Word document with photographs
  • A video (no time limit)
  • A PowerPoint presentation
  • Another chosen format

EVALUATION AND PRIZES

A professional three-member jury will evaluate the submitted recipes based on the following criteria:

  • Creativity and innovation of the recipe.
  • Emphasis on the use of local ingredients from the Pivka-Delamaris Group.
  • Visual and content quality of the presentation.
  • Practical feasibility of the recipe.

Prizes:

  • Practical prizes and certificates for the top three in each category.
  • Winning recipes will be included in the menu of selected restaurants in the Green Karst region in 2026.
  • Restaurateurs receiving the main prize will benefit from additional promotion within the region’s tourism offerings.

Young culinary creators

Rules and conditions of participation:

1. Participants:

The competition is open to all primary and secondary schools in Slovenia. Each student may participate in only one group. Each school can register multiple groups; there is no limit to the number of groups per school.

2. Categories:

  • Junior Chef (primary school groups)
  • Young Gourmets (secondary school groups)

Adult cooking enthusiasts and restaurateurs

Rules and conditions of participation:

1. Participants:

The competition is open to all adults or groups who enjoy cooking or are established restaurateurs. Each individual may register only once or participate in only one group. There is no limit to the number of groups.

2. Categories:

  • Adult cooking enthusiasts (adults or groups who enjoy cooking purely as a hobby)
  • Culinary masters (adults professionally engaged in the hospitality industry)

Special benefit for the fastest applicants

The first three registered groups or individuals in each category will receive 5 kg of Perutnina Pivka chicken and 10 cans of Delamaris fish to use in preparing their recipe.
